Truly Yahweh’s perfect timing is amazing. Sometimes we do not realize the why, but we know that there is a purpose and Yahweh, our Heavenly Father, has a beautiful plan.
To everything there is a season and a time. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Following the cloud
As the little ones were just beginning to wake up, we stood looking out the kitchen window thanking Yahweh for His many blessings. We noticed that there was a swarm of insects flowing about in our yard like a cloud. As we watched the swarm, mom said, “There is our cloud, let’s go!”
We had been discussing the seasons that Yahweh has led us through and the times when He has moved us onward. Just like the Israelites in the wilderness, we want to follow the cloud to where He leads us.
This season of our lives is possibly one of our most difficult. We have already faced many trials, and yet we have also seen Yahweh’s amazing hand at work. We are not perfect people, but we have a desire to do Yahweh’s will and strive with all our hearts to follow His leading.
Heading on the journey
We packed up and headed out on the road. We had a late start, but Yahweh has a plan and it isn’t always the same as our plan. Our plan was to camp in Iowa. Yahweh’s plan was for us to camp in northern Missouri.
We stopped for groceries a couple hours into our drive. Our total came to the exact amount that we had to spend! Yahweh always knows what we need.
Soon, evening came and we knew that we needed to find the right campground where Yahweh wanted us to be. Finding a safe and family-friendly site that is not too expensive for a large family and available can be a difficult task, especially on short notice. We came upon the Mark Twain State Park in Florida, Missouri and found a campsite. We all set up, as the sun began to set.
An opportunity to share
While dad was registering for our campsite, we had the opportunity to share with the camp host’s wife. She asked us about our tassels. We explained what they mean and why we wore them. She found it fascinating. Yahweh always puts us in the right places at the right times.
Spending time in Yahweh’s creation
While camping there, we played music and sang praise to Yahweh around the campfire, took walks to enjoy the lake nearby, read Scripture in the woods, and spotted some deer. Yahweh blessed us to have nice days to enjoy His creation.
We started Shabbat with a shofar blast, just as a thunder storm was rolling in. It was quite a downpour, but praise Yahweh for the rain as the area really needed it.
After we enjoyed the family time in the great outdoors, we packed up and headed on the road again.
Our journey has just begun, and we’re trusting Yahweh as He lays the path before us.
