Sunshine and Storm Clouds

Trials and blessings

The past few weeks have been full of trials and blessings.

A thunderstorm rolled into our area and shattered the poles on one of our tents. But, praise Yahweh, we were able to duck-tape it all up again. The rain was a refreshing blessing in the midst of the drought. It has been a beautiful mix of sunshine and storm clouds.

Ministering through music

In the midst of our trials, Yahweh has been working in our lives.

While visiting our Grandma in assisted living, the residential chaplain heard Elijah playing the piano and invited him to play for the entire facility. In the couple weeks that we have been here, Yahweh has opened many doors to minister to others through music and conversation.

A few words from Elijah:

“The first day that we got a piano, Mom played a song for us. Yahweh inspired me through Mom’s music.  From then on, Mom helped me learn the basics of playing the piano, and I started learning more and more about music. As I continued to play the piano, Yahweh gave me different musical compositions of my own.

While volunteering with Bread of Life Giving and Sharing, someone came into the coffee shop and gave us a small violin. I had always wanted to play the violin and Yahweh had set it on someone’s heart to bless me with one.

I have now been playing the piano for 6 years, and the violin for 5 months. I can also play on the glockenspiel. My favorite is the piano. If Yahweh wills, I would like to play more instruments in the future.

When I play the piano and violin, it’s like Yahweh is guiding my fingers over the keys and strings, pressing just the right ones that He knows will bless the person who I am playing for. People ask me where my music comes from. It comes from Yahweh.

About a week ago, we went to visit our Grandma in assisted living. While we were there, I played some music for her on the piano. When I finished playing the piano, we sat down in the dining room for a while. One of the chaplains had heard me playing the piano and invited me to play for the entire facility.

The next day, Noah and I played ‘Be thou my vision’, ‘Come thou fount’, ‘Amazing grace’, and ‘It is well with my soul’. I also played some of the composition that Yahweh had given to me. It was a great way to praise Yahweh and be a blessing too. I hope in the future that Yahweh will give me more opportunities to praise Him and bless others.” -Elijah Rahm (12yrs. old)

Tests of faith

When you say that you are walking by faith, you can be sure that Yahweh will test you on it. -And sometimes you don’t truly understand what that means until you’ve gone through those trials.

Our family is faced with a wall of trials before us, but we can see that Yahweh has an important mission for us to do. We must not give up. The greater the trial, the greater the victory in Messiah! We look forward to what Yahweh has planned for us. Many times, Yahweh’s plan will not be in the way that we think that it will be. We just need to trust Him in everything.

We look forward to getting on the road to our next destination. Right now, we are praying for Yahweh’s guidance and provision in what He wills us to do.

We appreciate your love, prayers, and support!

Blessings from our family to yours,
